Afib and headaches.

Has anyone on here had headaches along with your Afib and found something that worked to relieve them? Acetaminophin does nothing and I can't take any NSAID classed drugs. Thanks for your time. Mike

I have had headaches on waking due to oxygen deprivation due to sleep apnoea; the latter can contribute to starting AF.

Personally, rather than looking for something to mask them, I would want to find out the cause.

Thanks for responding. Yea, I've been looking for the cause now for 2 years. I've tested negative for apnea and my headaches and pressure are pretty much all day.

Maybe talk to a trusted experienced Alternative Practitioner eg Naturopath? I think today few GPs will be useful in your circumstances; my excellent GP has just departed to NZ.

I always get a headache if my bp gets too high. Could they be triggered by food?

My blood pressure is always under 120/80, and even when I tried fasting for a couple days the headaches were present. I might try that peppermint oil

My wife suffers from PAF and the occasional bad migraine. Normal migraine meds not allowed with her AF meds so paracetamol and codeine are all she has. She has found a cold compress (medical ice pack) also helps.

So I cheat and take an excedrin when my headaches are really bad. I figure it's better to take that than deal with the stress the headached causes. For my milder headaches I use peppermint oil on my forehead and temples. It works!

Will try the peppermint oil. Had not thought of that. Thanks
