Hello, many over-the-counter \ prescribed medications may have an effect on many antiarrhythmic medications, perhaps consult your pharmacist for advice, they will be able to let you know if nebivolol will have an adverse effect on Flecainide. You may find our Flecainide Patient Information Sheet helpful? Visit our webpage and download it via the link: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

Mefinks you are trying to confuse us! Just read your profile and saw your name is Mary plus all the lovely photos in your earlier posts!

Tracy has beaten me to it but pharmacists are well worth asking as they are often better informed about medications than many doctors. It may also help to email the manufacturers of all 3 products for their opinion….

Sorry it does seem like I’ve confused people.at present I take nebevilol 7.5 plus flec +apixiban and others meds for diabetes etc. My chest is tight and wheezy plus awful cough not covid.dr has suggested maybe try ventolin which can speed up the heart . I’m worried that this could bring on AF .does anyone take meds for asthma with AF treatments like mine . Thanks for replying .

I can’t take a beta blocker because I have asthma and I use a combination asthma inhaler daily. Although nebivolol is supposed to be better for asthmatics than bisoprolol it may be worsening your symptoms. The main thing to remember is that asthma/severe respiratory difficulty kills whereas AF doesn’t. So I would use the inhaler.

Hi - I have permanent AF and my meds are Nebivolol 5mg, Diltiqaazem, ramipril and an AC. I have asthma and regularly use an inhaler. I was on ventolin for ages but recently I have been suppled by the chemist with Salbutamol, I think they are very similar. Regarding affecting your heart rate, Sometimes it can raise it a little bit but I have had had no real problems with this. I have had a few stays in hospital where I have put on a nebulizer, that can cause increase in heart rate, but I have always been carefully monitored. I think quite a few members on here use an inhalor with AF meds.Cassie

Hi before I was diagnosed with AF I was short of breath and took to much of my inhaler as I felt like I was suffocating my GP told me it was my asthma any way I ended up with a hb of 170 and it took 4 days in hospital to get under a 100 . The cardio doctor told me my inhaler was partly to blame for the increase and I had to ask the nurse for it’s use when in hospital it was taken off me .

Hello George :-) I have asthma which doesn't trouble me too much unless I get a chest infection.I take Nebivolol for AF which I tolerate well and Seretide inhaler 2x daily for asthma.

I used to take Ventolin when needed but found I was getting a bad reaction (dizzy feeling strange) so avoid it when possible. Because of C19 and staying isolated i have avoided chest infections for over 2 years so haven't needed extra help.

I was aware some asthma medications can affect those with AF and have had occasions when AF followed a dose of Seretide which may or may not have been cause and effect but as it only happened occasionally I took no action.
