125bpm but Apple Watch says not AF

hi all

had ablation 16 weeks ago .

absolutely zero improvement but I do get varying rhythms as well as 60% AF .

The latest has been in stuck on circa 125bpm for last 24 hours

Took 8mg of bisoporol yesterday as well as my 200mg of Flec .

Managed to contact ST Bart’s who done my ablation and they said if I feel ok then to ride it out and take up to 10mg of bisoporol if needed .

so for 24 hours I’ve been at 125bpm I don’t feel bad and have no pain or anything .

Just wondered if anyone else has these episodes and how long they went on for etc .

I will give St Bart’s another email if no change by lunchtime .

Thanks for the great replies as always

Matt

Sounds like Atrial Tachycardia.

I had high HR following ablation but not a resting HR above 120. It gradually, very gradually decreased but never went back to pre-ablation rates of 60-65 and stuck at around 72 and took about 9 months to get there. It’s just one of things the hospital fail to tell you but it is in the Recovering from Ablation leaflet. Having said that, I didn’t have AF episodes but I did experience ectopics. If you aren’t symptomatic and feel OK then I think the Bart’s advice good.

125 is only slightly above normal range but do take it easy and don’t try run a marathon, it’s the Tortoise who will wins this race. Having said all of that - if you are still in AF for 60% of the time 16 weeks following ablation, I would be asking What next? Maybe a touch up ablation? Take care.

Hi CD Yes I have another appointment with EP next Friday and they are already talking about the the 2nd ablation .

Since my ablation 16 weeks ago my resting rate in NSR is normally 55bpm and when in AF it’s circa 80bpm

it’s only the last 24 hours it’s been 25bpm

Chill and watch the golf lol

Bad luck - that must feel awful. A week after my ablation in 2019 (for atrial flutter), I was told to stop my bisoprolol but, lo and behold, a week later I had the same as you and even AF. Luckily it cleared in hospital with a single dose of bisoprolol.

I think while the scars heal and form over 3-6 months, various arrhythmias are likely.
