I had high HR following ablation but not a resting HR above 120. It gradually, very gradually decreased but never went back to pre-ablation rates of 60-65 and stuck at around 72 and took about 9 months to get there. It’s just one of things the hospital fail to tell you but it is in the Recovering from Ablation leaflet. Having said that, I didn’t have AF episodes but I did experience ectopics. If you aren’t symptomatic and feel OK then I think the Bart’s advice good.
125 is only slightly above normal range but do take it easy and don’t try run a marathon, it’s the Tortoise who will wins this race. Having said all of that - if you are still in AF for 60% of the time 16 weeks following ablation, I would be asking What next? Maybe a touch up ablation? Take care.
Bad luck - that must feel awful. A week after my ablation in 2019 (for atrial flutter), I was told to stop my bisoprolol but, lo and behold, a week later I had the same as you and even AF. Luckily it cleared in hospital with a single dose of bisoprolol.
I think while the scars heal and form over 3-6 months, various arrhythmias are likely.
