I have been on apixaban but was taken off them to do further blood tests. From the test they found that the bloods for factor 8 level was at 221. Does anyone understand what this means and had similar results and were you put on medication for this to stop the risk of blood clots?

I have always understood that whilst females can pass haemophilia to their male offspring they can't have it themsleves so I am confused by your question or do you not mean haemophilia?.

Sorry.... I'm new to this. My problem isn't haemophilia. I have a problem with blood clots and the blood test the docs took showed high results in Factor 8 levels. So my blood does clot... but a bit too well leading to blood clots.

You need to discuss this with your medical team and get proper explanation from them as regards to what condition you have, treatment etc.

I think the number 221 is your D-Dimer range which normal according to the internet search I ran. The factor 8 means you have a propensity to DVT. (venous thromboembolism) But I am not a health professional so I might be wrong on that. Best to ask the medical team who gave you those results.

All the best.
