As some of you may know I'm booked in for double ablation 1st June at fairly short notice,so thought I'd sit and re- read the patient advice leaflets.
Sat in our sun room and wondered how my shoulder would be for lying still for ages flat on back. ( Broke it last year and still bit dodgy)
So down on the rug, didn't put cushion for head as thought go for worst case scenario.
While I was there thought I'd try some meditation as being very troubled by lots of AF at present.
Well,it's warm in there and I must have dozed off into deep sleep, not much recently.
Mr W comes in to remind me we are going out, sees me lying apparently collapsed. Rushes over and shakes me ,well I just screeched in shock, and sat up, headbutting him in his stomach( thankfully a soft landing lol)
He was only on one knee and I he went off balance, shouting something about a duck..
Luckily fell against the blanket box we use as coffee table to break his fall.
That's the one on wheels.....
So he and it carry on going, knocking my water glass and paper bin( full obviously) and into the dozing cat.
Cat not impressed and clawed up Mr Ws back. (He's still on about that duck!)
I couldn't get up to help him as physically couldn't as now know I need help to!
Well he came to a halt and we just looked at each other and howled with laughter until tears came.
We had a brief discussion about the merits of putting notes on doors at such times.
He hauled me up ,we sorted carnage and went out on wedding paraphernalia collection and delivery for sons wedding Saturday. ( Isn't there a lot these days? Floral arches, photobooths, all sorts of malarkey)
It was only later after supper I realised I had not noticed any Arrthymias. So took Kardia at 10 pm....NSR!! And none during night ,and NSR today!
So if in desperation at long wait for cardio version, try the Kaito method of sudden shock!
Either that or go to a good comedy show and laugh till you cry!
Thought of you all and wanted to share 😁😁😁
Have a good day all.
Over and out from Wilson Towers!

It is great to have a good imagination at such times as I even had the sound effects in my head! Best laugh for ages. Hope the duck is OK now and that Hs back isn't too badly clawed.
Thanks for this. Just what I needed. I hope Mr W and the cat have recovered 😂. Reminds me of Sir Terry Wogan when he would read out one of his antidotes. Thanks.
Brilliant. Glad you are both ok and duck and cat as well but have to be honest I didn’t want the story to end as I was enjoying it so much. Good luck for 1st of June and enjoy the wedding. 🦆xxx
Your story has certainly had me starting my day with a good laugh ! Thanks for that. I hope the weekend continues with that positive happy fun… and continued NSR 😀.
Oh we've had a few of these too! After developing AF and 15 years of interrupted sleep due to snoring we opted for separate bedrooms more or less opposite each other. Couple of days ago I did a long satisfying groan whil stretching. Apparently went completely silent afterwards. Hubster rushed in about a minute later- thought I'd had a heart attack or similar. Glad neither of you sustained an injury though. Keep calm and carry on.
Honestly , you couldn’t make that up! I laughed and laughed.
On a serious note, ask them to wrap you in a Bear Hug whilst on the table. This is a warm air filled bubble wrap to all intents and purposes. I had a spinal fracture some years ago and the 4 hours on the table for my first ablation left me with awful upper back pain. Those catheter lab tables are mighty hard! The Bear Hug worked a treat for my second ablation.
Tears of laughter here, imagining what that scenario looked like, and listening to the references to the ‘duck’. Enjoy the wedding, and best of luck on 1st. ❤️
What a brilliant story😂 Hope the cat isn’t in therapy now🤣 Thank you so much for sharing. I hope there aren’t any repeat performances at your sons wedding! All good wishes to you for that and for your upcoming ablations x
Hilarious. Thank you. 😅 Well of all the techniques I've read on this site for getting back into NSR that must be the most complicated! I think I will stick to Jean's breathing methods lol.
Oh my goodness. One can't make that stuff happen. Lemony Snickets-A Series of Unfortunate Events! But thank goodness no one seriously injured (maybe the cats pride😂) And look at the outcome. May it stay that way. And happy wedding for your son.
And folk think I'm funny 🤣🤣🤣 but I won't have ducks taken in vane 😁.On a serious note, I asked for a pillow as I get a bit of vertigo. They prefer to have you completely flat but gave in with pillow about 5cm thick.
All the best for the wedding and for next week. Looking forward to hearing how it went and hopefully no Benny Hill style shenanigans in the lab.😁.x
