This blog will not be news to the ‘old hands’ but because there have been a few threads about diet for AF I thought I’d post. Says all the the things many of us have been saying for a long time but it’s good to finally have that backed up with large studies:
It’s also becoming clear that repeated unhealthy inflammation in response to certain foods (which we refer to as dietary inflammation) is the missing link between the foods that we eat and the risk of chronic conditions linked to diet and metabolism, such as diabetes and heart disease.
Generally, the evidence suggests that habitually eating a high quality, diverse, plant-rich diet with more whole foods and fewer ultra-processed foods is the best approach for supporting your health and microbiome. But beyond that, the best kind of eating pattern for your health depends on your personal metabolism and microbes.
In other words you will need testing and advice from a Nutritionist.

Thank you for that CD. Always something to learn and with the day ahead of me this looks very good - even though you are informing the converted I don't have blimkers on, there is always something to learn, always a different view and/or a different take to absorb.
Thank you CDreamer, very informative and useful site to explore especially about the microbiome and plant based dieting. A lot of ‘stuff to digest’ but I have noticed that changing to a more plant based diet ( support by my son in the first place) is worthy.. have a nice Easter weekend..🌷🇳🇱
