My cardiologist took me down from 7. 5 mg Bisoprolol to 2. 5 mg because I am having longer episodes of AF (last one was 22 hours) and am blacking out when I convert to NSR. He said I was having a conversion pause each time.Ten days ago he decided to give me a pacemaker then after consultation with another cardiologist and an EP it was decided to put me on 400 mg Donedarone twice a day, This is my second day so I have taken three tablets in all so far. My heart rate is erratic . One time it is 47 the next it is 60 . Also my BP is weird it was 110/47 the next it’s 133/59. I suppose there is a settling in period and I do get ectopics but this time it has been going in for a couple of hours when I am sitting down. Anyone have any experience of this nature? Thanks

Only advice is that you should listen to the Docs, they do not know everything but they do know an awful lot more than anyone else. Your medication (like everyone else's) will have a degree of trial and error, it is inessential you keep your Doc up to date with your symptoms as this will enable them to get to your right treatment sooner. Some get the right treatment straight away and some months if not years of trial and error. In my case my symptoms did not reflect my condition which was only known when I had an ablation, the concoction of drugs I took during my 25 year journey provided variable results (mainly poor), only when I took a bad reaction to Flecainide (after 3 months usage) was I given an ablation which identified the problem. Now on just 1.25 Bisoprolol (as a maintenance dose) and feeling better that I did 25 years ago.

Thank you, though with our condition I am looking at this being a sort of rest-bite rather than a permanent fix.

Thank you. It is comforting to know that I am not on my own. My HR went firm to 41 at one time last night. It is currently 59. Keep well and thanks
