Talk to your pharmacist about any drug reactions/interactions as we are not qualified to answer.

I have this too thanks to past sinus infections and a narrow septum. It was also worsened by the side effects of doxazosin, a tablet used to treat the urinary symptoms (LUTS) arising from an enlarged prostate (BPH). I've since switched to a different drug, alfuzosin, with some relief, but it is still a chronic problem that often affects my sleep since it causes me to breathe through my mouth. It's a truly uncomfortable ailment at times and I don't think it is considered sufficiently importantly by doctors, probably because it is so hard to treat.

I was told to try beclomethasone nasal spray, which did very little to help, even though I know some do find this useful; also, antihistamines, which, again, didn't help. 'Natural' remedies failed, too. I did try the saline rinse method and steam inhalation, which do give temporary relief but not overnight. Basically, I feel that I am stuck with it.

I don't know if the congestion could be a side effect of the rivaroxiban you are taking. Sometimes there are other side effects to these meds Drs don't know or don't mention. To see if it is you can go to drugs.com and take a look. Also have you ever been tested for mold allergy? I understand much of the UK has a damp climate and if you are around mold it can cause problems with the body. I live in Florida which is a very damp climate and I have a mold allergy which causes me a lot of congestion. I'm always trying to get rid of the phlegm. Unless one can get out of the damp climate, it's a losing battle. Unfortunately I can't move or I'd move to a drier climate. It might be worth it to at least get tested for mold. If the Drs will do it for you. 🤔Hope you can find an answer. Take care.

I find that steam inhalation is very helpful as well as menthol chest rubs. For nasal congestion you can use breath rite strips at night. Best to use such harmless remedies as decongestants cause major problems with a fib.,

I meant to ask you if you had an air purifier? I have one in my bedroom I have on while sleeping and it does help quite a bit with the congestion. They aren't terribly expensive. The one I have now was under $100. I don't know what the cost would be where you live. Take care.
