I'll be honest now. I feel like death warmed up. However I have my pre-check up's on Wedneday and my CV on Saturday. I can hardly breathe at the moment and find it a struggle to walk to the shops. Who will win this one ? Me.
I always try and postive on the forum - time to take my own advice. Action cures fear. It's hard work at the moment but I'm going to beat this. It's a right strugge at the moment but I'll do it. A CV is nothing at all and I'm in.
Still a little scared but I'll beat it hands down.
That goes for all of you having a CV.

Well done Paul. The only thing to fear is fear itself. Although try telling me that when I'm six feet up a ladder! lol 😁 You will be fine . Have to be as we value your input.
Now’s the time to do what’s best for you Paul. Positive attitudes work wonders and you’ve got it in bucket loads, just do the best you can to prepare for next Saturday and make sure you don’t over do things once it’s all over. The forum needs you firing on all cylinders……all the best!
Paul, just remind yourself how great you feel when a cv puts you back in sinus rhythm! I shall think of you on Sat when I'm in hospital recovering from my surgery (.....I hope!)
Paul don't worry a CV is nothing .I've had quite a few and it will put you back in SR your so positive for others on the forum I'm going to be positive for you just imagine the exquisite feeling of normal rhythm
It’s natural to be scared, to be fearful etc. it’s fear of the unknown and not being in control of your own body. You will be fine and have all the professionals around you looking after you. You’ll be fine and soon back full of bounce. x
You've had a tough old time Paul since Le Flecainide threw a wobbly at you! And you're always so positive with others. So now, like you say, be as kind to yourself. Think about how good it'll be to get to those shops once you've had your cardioversion. Lots of tea, comforting things and sleep before then. We'll be here for you.
Bless ya. I wish you all the best and take it easy this week. Next week they’ll be no stopping ya! If I’m in a situation that scares or hurts I always try to tell myself this isn’t going to last forever. It’s happening, it’ll soon be done and I’ll be outta here. I’m a list maker too, it helps sometimes…fears, questions, chores, wishes and dreams, shopping, garden seeds to plant where and what month etc. Tick em off, star them, underline or scrub them out one by one. If nothing else it’s a pursuit that is gentle, can sit quietly and do it, on the loo, listening to music or telly on. It takes my mind off things and hope sharing it may have helped but know we’re all here for you. Take care xx
I’m so sorry you are having such a rotten time at the moment I’m sending you a big virtual hug 🫂.You WILL get through this, and will soon be back in restful sinus rhythm. The medical team will look after you Paul and in no time it will be all over and done with and you will be safely back home.
I know it is scary but we are all here for you. 👍
You will be fine, take care and I am sending you positive vibes right now !
Thinking positive will save the day. Just think how wonderful you'll feel when you come through on the other side. My two CVs were such positive experiences for me, that I recommend it to anyone. They were like a light switched on and my heartbeat was suddenly back to normal. And remember this, the procedure (aside from preparations) only takes about 5 minutes.
Good luck Paul. Just focus on all the nice things you will be able to do without the AF holding you back. It is a only natural to worry about the procedure but with all the positive vibes coming your way all will be well.Best wishes and a huge virtual hug.
Hi Paul, I’ve never posted before but I have often read and appreciated your posts to others, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Sending you lots of good wishes.
Hi Paul sorry to hear you are going through 'a bad spell' I think many of us AFers get them at times. My worst was when I tried taking Flecainide , big mistake for me but a great drug for others.
At bad times I tell myself I can do this thing all be it slowly with my lack of breath.
Nothing lasts forever and tomorrow may be better...
At the moment I have back pain to add to my 2 weekly long episodes of P-AF (unable to get a plumber I tried to repair the kitchen tap)
Stay positive and keep your mind busy to help you get to Saturday quickly ...x
