Feeling better

Hi all, I’m feeling a lot better, still feel like I’ve ran a marathon just going downstairs. Day six in bed , don’t think I’ve rested so much😊, only done food and changed my bed very slowly but that’s it. I intend to stay resting for another week . Just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words. I do get belly aches above the bellybutton not sure if it the ablation or covid. How does one get comfortable taking so many pills . Hopefully this is the start of feeling better now 🤞.

I think the general idea of resting after an ablation is sitting in a comfortable armchair and watching t.v., or reading a book, but I know you've also had Covid so both together have probably knocked you out energy wise.

I've had three ablations, but have never experienced the belly aches you describe.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and glad you haven't had any odd heartbeats.

Well not yet , hope I don’t but the doctor put me on some tablets that protect the stomach as she said being on blood thinners and colchicine together can risk an ulcer but today after only one tablet I’ve had very loose stools. I’m hoping that doesn’t set off my heart as I know you can get dehydrated.

Its usual to be prescribed those pills after an ablation EP's at one time used to send you home from hospital with them, but from what I read on here that doesn't always happen now. I wouldn't worry about loose stools while you're at home. You won't be getting any exercise, so better that way than not being able to go. I've never taken, or heard of colchicine, so know nothing about the effects of that.

Best wishes.

I was on colchicine last time and it was fine but doc wanted me on the pills to protect my stomach as well and she did say they can give you loose stools but before ablation my heart would get upset like this so I’m hoping this doesn’t happen. Colchicine was given by cardiologist to treat inflammation after ablation.

Hi EB.

Please just put your feet up for a few weeks and relax. It's a great reason to just chill and do nothing. I think you will feel better for sure in a week or so. It sounds like you already are judging by the title of your post - great news. Slowly does it though - take your time and don't rush things. Maybe do what your doing for another month and give things time to heal. You will get there - I just know this.

"hopefully this is the start of feeling better now". You already are so think how your feel in a few more weeks ? You are on take off now but soon you'll be crusing and feel so much better. Take things slowly for a few more weeks - one step at a time. Slowly for now and build up in your own time. You have shown courage and have a positive outlook - that's half the battle won. Take it easy for while and you'll crack this nut no worries. I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Without challenge, there’s no growth. Without growth, there’s no life.

You are going through the challenge right now. An ablation is no fun but you have got through the worse of it. You will crack this. The growth will come. Just think - in another month you'll be back normal - it can take a little longer but you'll get there.

Loads of best,

Paul

Thank you, it’s funny because it’s taken me along time in life to realise that you gain strength through hard times , I used to think troubled times was punishment, silly I know but then I got in to a really toxic relationship with a narcissist that I haven’t been able to escape from yet but it has taught me so much and I’ve gained enormous strength so I agree with you. I intend to take is easy for as long as I can and thank you.

Hi electricblueThe stress of a toxic relationship is not what you need to let your battered heart (real and metaphysically) heal. Stay strong and emerge stronger and less stressed.

To be honest I think that was the cause of my heart problems, we moved in together four years ago and it’s been hell, he totally trapped me regards to me selling my house and putting it all in one pot but I’ve learnt a lot about narcissist’s 😊, learnt a lot of my own strengths I didn’t know I had. They can’t be beat usually but silence is a very powerful tool. I will get out but being healthy and good timing is key. I have a lot of support from family and friends.

Glad you're feeling able to post again. You've had a double whammy with the ablation and picking up Covid. Really unlucky! You'll be as weak as a kitten I expect and even when you start to feel like getting up, take it very easy as viruses alone can hit us like that - feeling fine in the morning - then back to bed in the afternoon. Lots of time off work for you!! I wouldn't worry about the loose stools and dehydration- if you get serious diarrhoea that's another matter. I wouldn't be messing with any other over the counter meds at this stage if I were you. Coconut water is a nice electrolyte replacement if you can get it. Amazon sell it in boxes and I think it's not too expensive. Don't lift the box though whatever you do- not after ablation!!

Thank you , I had coconut water and it helped. I am resting still and will for another week. Then still go easy for awhile after that. Great support on here.

Hi. Electric. For diarrhoea eat rice in slightly salted water. Cherries also neutralize stomach.

Stay off fatty foods. And peas which give flatulence.

Drink plenty of water add a little salt and glucose. That will keep you hydrated nicely.

HIGreat you feeling better.

I had good news yesterday when scanner of my Neck Scan declared NO CANCER. At anniversary of Year 2.

Life is trying at the moment without other things under the microscope.

I am booked for a Surgical Nesh re TVT kit by Johnson & Johnson saga.

I'm in NZ and this should have been done 2.1/2 years ago.

I'm told that the day 03/03/2022 may change of no beds due to COVID!>

So I stop my PRADAXA 3 days prior and fly the 400kms approx only to be told no bed at Northshore Hospital. I'm 73 years and just want this op done.

Ready for my anaesthetist assessment. At Whangarei.

All blood tests OK.

TSH a bit high and I kowered it down to 4.6 in 6 days. Keep to present regime and I will have it down to TSH 2.0-3.0. Could be an expiry date on one 25mg bottle Synthroid. or liquice.

Energy returning with CCB and less Bisoprolol and lower dose 110mg of PRADAXA the blood thinner twice a day.

All is well.

Pills well throxin 5-6am, Diltiazem 120ms 7am, Doxycyckine 8am and 1.2 hr later PRADAXA. My present a.m regime.

cheers JOY
