Does anyone else have nasty red marks on their shins and back of their hands because of taking Xarelto? Much worse lately and pretty unsightly.

Effects of xarelto
I have been taking Xarelto for at least 3 years and have not noticed any red marks on the backs of my hands or shins.
Hi, when you say nasty red marks , do you mean look like scrapes or red bruises? I get those , I am on 20 mg Xarelto . Back of hands arms . Once I had 3 lines of them . ! I photo d emailed to my Coagulation (Blood) Specialists team. A Dr said not serious, just bruising . ( it wasn’t ). I asked my Top specialist , she said at our age (70s) skin is thin , there is leaking through the tissues. Photo your marks. Send to Coag Team, On phone with date . I take turmeric ginger capsules . That’s the limit on top of Xarelto 20 mgs . You forget unless cut yourself , our blood is THIN . Oldies also have thin skin. I ate cubes of dry ginger for sinus relief . A hot piece heated my sinus and I had a BIG nose bleed with clots . I didn’t freak out as I know , heat can break blood vessels in nose. It stopped in an hour . I don’t chew hot ginger anymore on top of Xarelto and my turmeric ginger capsule IN THE MORNING for knee arth. I mentioned it to my specialist , she agreed , heat plus ginger , grapefruit alcaholic do thin blood . Be careful natural bloodthinners if on Xarelto . (Warfarin takers are told to avoid grapefruit etc , ) she said the hours after taking the Xarelto is the period blood will be thinner . So my marks on back of hands and arms come up in the night , show in morning . As take it at 5 p m with dinner and a Slimfast protein shake to protect stomach from it. Maybe think about your foods etc see if you are eating drinking something that is a natural bloodthinner. Leaking from under skin. I don’t worry about it anymore. Coag DRs reassured me. My 6 months Coag bloods are OK. All 6 monthly bloods are ok. For you , photo each time , make a food drink diary of date and food and drink after the Xarelto dose . Email to Coag Clinic Team. Hope this helps . Good luck . To cheer you up, my Specialist , said Xarelto is coincidentally not a bad med to be on during this ‘P’ time, it gives me comfort . 🙏🏻
Not on my shins and hands but I bleed under my toenails, especially if I have been on a long walk or I am wearing new shoes. The first time I went to my GP but now, if the bruise moves as the toenail grows I know it is nothing to worry about.
My partner took Eliquis and then Xarelto. Both caused his legs to ulcerate and turn beet red. He was only on Xarelto for a few days and it caused his prostate to swell up and he had to go to emergency and get catheritized. His Dr suggested a third one and it had the same bad side effects. He told the Dr no way. He's on a natural treatment. Doing well. Some people just can't tolerate pharma meds well. Neither can I.
Take care.
