It's now been reported in the USA through the FDA that pharmacies around the country are running low on prescription meds. Including heart medications and cancer meds. There are 111 drugs on back order in pharmacies around the USA. I know that the UK and other countries are having supply chain problems pretty bad too. Just be heads up and see where your pharmacies are at as far as having meds you are taking. Stores here have some empty spots on their shelves. Not a crisis by any means. But it's concerning about the meds. Praying everyone will continue to get the meds they need. Omicron is now biting at our heels. 😞

Supply chain problems
Yes empty supermarket shelves here too. Thankfully, at the moment no problem with medications. We did have a few hiccups with supply of my wife's meds but that was before the first lock down in March 2020 and had more to do with Brexit, so we were told, and larger pharmacy suppliers stocking up on medications so the smaller companies couldn't get hold of some medication so our little village pharmacy couldn't get hold of her usual prescription. Since then we have had no problems with supply but with the final phase of brexit going ahead one way or another in the next month I believe and now another variant putting us back a little there may be more upheaval. Fingers' crossed everything will be OK. My wife had problems with supply of her particular medication a few years before that, when the company making it were changing their supply system so keeps a good supply of this particular medication anyway. I think things are beginning to become more settled now but many things not seen in the shops - no cauliflower in our supermarket last week, haven't seen cartons of tomato juice since September oh and funnily enough can't get any orange juice with regularly either so usually have a few cartons in the garage just in case.
Glad it's not too bad as far as meds go. Yes I've read about your problems with Brexit. Politics....😒
Some shortages of certain drugs like epi-pens etc, and this started about 5 years ago, and according to the Canadian Pharmacy association, there needs to be more local manufacturing as opposed to reliance on international supply chains. There seems to be no issue with most drugs though. Also, to avoid confusion, pharmacuticals are flown in, not shipped via sea containers, so when you read about bottlenecks at ports, it is for other goods.
Didn't think about pharmaceuticals being flown in. Too many of our meds come from China. Over 80%. And I just read yesterday China is having a major problem with a water shortage. Hard to do anything without adequate water. So that will cause production problems for them. Yes all countries who can need to start now to ramp up local manufacturing. Be safe and stay well.
