Too soon to drive? Post ablation.

Curious as to how long you waited before taking a short drive (with you driving I mean) after an ablation. I am feeling quite nervous and reluctant to try it so I’m wondering if I’m in company here.

The info pack from the hospital only said no driving for two days.

Thanks

Sean

Two days minimum is the legal requirement and should be longer I would say regardless of anything else. In our fact sheet we do say you should be resting for at least a week as well. I had GA for all mine and waited at least a week. as I was aware how dulled my reactions were. It s not just about us after all.

Excellent point Bob.

I agree with Bob I remember waiting a week myself. Remember your right groin will be tender and that is your braking leg.

I waited a week, more due to my groin being quite sore but then drove to Stratford upon Avon for a weeks holiday a few days after that and was fine

I was advised 2 days, but I just had sedation. I think it's a week with a GA. In the event, I started driving after 5 days and made quite a long trip after 6 for work, which wasn't ideal.
