Long time no see!

Hey y’all I was looking through my old email and it reminded me of this great group. A little back story. I’m currently 26 but started showing signs and eventually diagnosed with PAfib at like 22-23. To me it was absolutely devastating at the time as I had just became a firefighter and this disease can sideline my career. Some will laugh but at 23 I genuinely went into a dark place in life. I felt as if I was given a death sentence, I truly slipped into depression. Fast forward to November of 2019. I took an entire month off of work, not even knowing if I’d be cleared to go back. I had a RF ablation with Dr. Phan in chandler, AZ. I’m happy to report as of today I’m nearing two years since that operation and I’ve been afib free yayyyyyy! I was literally so excited to get back to work that the day I medically cleared I went in, even though it was Christmas Eve lol anyways, I’ve met some incredible people through this blog. I had many people around my age or only a few years older reach out to me with encouraging words especially when everything seemed so dark and unsure. I met an especially awesome firefighter/EMT/career badass who lives in Canada named Ryan. It’s been a while buddy but I just wanna personally thank you for sharing your experience and how we could relate with our job and lifestyle. I know that this is a lifelong battle but as of now I’m truly so happy and lucky to continue what I’m doing. Im happy to update y’all and thank you all for your support, even my blokes across the pond ;)
