IV Diuretics in hospital

I want to share this: my husband had huge amount of fluid retention which caused breathlessness and could hardly move and leg started leaking. He was admitted to Bedford Hospital for 4 weeks on IV diuretics and fluid nearly all gone, breathlessness gone. Home now and gradually building up strength. Monitoring fluid intake and weight daily to maintain on tablets. Hope at last. 👍😀

This must be a great relief for both of you Dusty_Trainline. Wishing your husband well for his health journey forward from here.

That's amazing. How did it get so bad without earlier intervention?

Hi, he had VATS procedure at UCL before Christmas for fluid around the lungs. Furosemide and Spironlactone after that then Spironlactone dropped as was affecting the kidneys. GP and Cardiologist appointments were over the phone so they couldn’t see how bad it was getting although we were telling them. We’re hopeful now. Thanks for tall the posts on this site.
