All went well with today’s surgery. I haven’t seen my surgeon yet but my anesthetist popped in a little while ago to check on me. She said they were ready for every scenario but thankfully my heart was perfect all the way through the procedure. I am however still at a high risk for arrhythmias over the next few days.
I have a private room with a view of the trees and sky which is nice. The food here is great and I’ve just enjoyed an evening cuppa with cheese and
crackers.
Having gone through a similar operation 4 1/2 years ago I know what I’m in for. Let the recovery begin!

First time in hospital here in US, 5 years back, with afib, saw a real nurse at beginning of the shift, to take vitals, $9,000 a day & food from a vending machine, never again!
The night nurse who just took my pulse said the afternoon nurse made a note of an irregular beat earlier but she hadn’t mentioned it to me. I’m in NSR now so hopefully it stays that way x
Wow! The food looks a lot better than what I got after I had my ablation. (Can't complain too much, though. I've still got a steady rhythm 2 years later!)
Kaz, I saw your earlier reply and wondered if you were checking from your hospital bed! You must be relieved your op is over and that your heart so far is behaving. That meal looks lush! Take care x
