Candesartan 4 mg

Hi does anyone have an opinion about taking Candesartan on going to bed , rather than taking it first thing after breakfast?.

I suspect it is making me tired during the day and wonder if it would in fact help me sleep better taken before retiring

When I was on Candesartan. 8mg I always took mine at bedtime. Apparently it is the best time to take it as it gives protection in the vulnerable early hours. ( pleased to say I haven't needed BP meds for nearly 2 years now as no longer hypertensive!)

Many thanks for that JaliaI thought logically it could help since I also have problems with broken sleep. Will give it a test from tonight. Thanks again for the reply.

Mum takes 32mg of candesartan (Atacand) before bed. That's the maximum daily dose. She has nocturnal hypertension.

I have taken Candesartan for 9 years after breakfast each morning as instructed. 12 weeks ago I was put on a new RA medication and within about 10 days I developed a really bad rash. The new med. was immediately stopped as it was the number one side effect. Took two weeks to fade. Two weeks later it returned and took another two weeks to fade. Another two weeks went by and back came the rash and as now started to go. I then went through all my medications for rash problems and the one that showed up was Candesartan. I also on searching on Google came across an article in the BMJ of a case of a 73 year old male who had taken it for over 20 years suddenly starting to get constant rashes with no medical history of such after it was stopped it as not returned.I have a meeting at my Doctors this afternoon to discuss this as GP’s very rarely will take you off a Med. prescribed by a consultant.
