Wearing masks

Hi guys. I was just wondering whether any of you struggle with wearing a mask?

Also to the ones who work full time- Do you struggle with this ?

I'm currently able to work from home so all good at the moment, although probably due back to normal routine soon. I am a health care professional and can be very busy, can also be very stressful at times. I will have to wear a mask

Hi. I'm a foot health practitioner and wore a mask, prior to Covid, for certain aspects of treatment but now I wear a mask for the entire appointment. I've been fine with it, although on a hot day, it can be a bit of a pain.......not that we get many of those 😊.

Hi I don't wear a mask because I find it very hard to breathe with it I have polmary fibrosis and suffer afib so I tried a face shield this was bad made me panic and difficult to breathe so I just brought a lanyard of f ebay and wore that people excepted that and did not question me .I still wear it now if I go anywhere it just tell people your not being unlawful and most will not question you.

I'm retired but I find masks hard going indeed. The extra heat they create raises my anxiety levels for some reason. I don't envy you wearing one all day long!

Every week, for none-AF related treatment, I have to wear a mask for four hours and I too find it very hard going. I don't object to wearing a mask at all, but then I have been shielding for a long time, and the occasions were sporadic and for very short periods. Now having to wear one for hours in an indoor environment I find difficult.

I hardly ever wear a mask as I go out very little but find they are uncomfortable in hot weather and make your face sweat. I feel very sorry for people who have to wear them all day long - especially waiters and waitresses who are often working outdoors in them . In cold weather they are difficult for those who wear glasses causing them to steam up! There seems to be controversy over whether they are really effective and a fair amount of consensus that outside they do very little if anything in stopping transmission.

I'm a healthcare professional in Trauma & Ortho. We've been wearing the PPE (when available!) since March/April 2020. From surgical facemasks, to masks and visors and full length blue gowns, to everything in between.

Add to this having to wear a face covering on days off for the school runs or shopping or public transport and its something you get used to.

I do find I'm drinking a lot more and prone to overheating a bit more when I'm exerting myself at work or during the summer when it's been hot and sweaty indoors and outdoors but they were useful over the winter when your face gets cold in a morning!

Sadly with the lifting of restrictions it would appear I am now in the minority when out and about as they are "recommended" not mandated and I continue to wear it in busy public areas.
