Bradycardia

I had bradycardia in January following Covid and now have a pacemaker fitted. Doing OK. except for periodic bouts of tiredness. It’s all new to me.

I’m afraid that’s not unusual. We still have much to learn about after affects if COVID. My sister has hair loss - virus’s like flu & COVID put so much stress on our body.

I too had bradycardia after having Covid, but the virus also ramped up my a-fib episodes. My EP at the time was nearing prescribing a pacemaker too, but I changed EPs and had a radio-frequency ablation about a month ago. My heart rate is higher than it used to be, i.e. normal, and I'm flooded with energy from all that oxygenated blood coursing through me. I sometimes wish I were back in bradycardia as I now can't seem to sit still!

Well this is interesting. I had my first and only bout of Afib Christmas night 2019 which was a terrible experience - it lasted for 3 days and I felt really ill with flu like symptoms and a terrible cough. (In hindsight I think I should have attended A&E knowing now what I didn’t know then but hubby put me off saying I was being melodramatic). I managed to see my GP on the 3rd day and he confirmed Afib - but couldn’t say if it was permanent or PAF but thankfully PAF. To cut a long story short I paid privately to see a cardiologist who also diagnosed left atrial enlargement, bradycardia and very high blood pressure. I too, suffer with extreme bouts of tiredness and have just handed my notice in and finished working. I am now wondering if I had a form of COVID Christmas 2019 which was the start of my health issues!
