Is this bigeminy-trigeminy

Hi everyone, i have had a fairly successful ablation back in October 2019, having the odd short AF that is nowhere as bad as it was. Over the last few months I have been experiencing 2 quick beats then pause, or 3 quick beats then pause with breathlessness that can last for a few hours. This is very concerning for me as I struggle with this only finding relief lying over a chair with my wife rubbing my back. The breathlessness is pretty scary. I have searched to find what this is and I am coming up with bigeminy and trigeminy. Has anyone else had this experience and what can I do to avoid or bring relief quicker.

Could well be. Try the slow deep breathing exercise. Slow your breathing right down to less than six a minute using your stomach not your shoulders and do this for at least five minutes. If possible arange with your GP to have an ECG done durng one of these episodes so you can send a copy to your EP for their commnts.

Hi I had my second Ablation in December which hasn’t worked I’m still going into AF every 5-7 days and usually revert back on the 2nd day after going walking or cycling for around 1-2 hours.

What has been alarming is getting the Bigeminy and Trigeminy beats it is a very uncomfortable experience which is normally followed by AF.

I had a recent consultation with my EP he looked at my Kardia readings and told me they are not dangerous and nothing to worry about.

I just try and stay calm and stick it out try some 4x4 breathing. Its a relief when they stop and I go into AF.

Hope this helps

When I was getting regular bigeminy almost every day, it sometimes ran into being full blown AF. Best advice is to keep calm and do something soothing (TV or knitting) until it stops. Also, if you can record it, let your doctors know. Otherwise, you need to catch it on an ECG if you can.
