Relaunch of Act F.A.S.T stroke campaign

We are supporting the relaunch of Public Health England’s ACT F.A.S.T stroke campaign.

For some people, living with an arrhythmia, such as atrial fibrillation, means they are at a higher risk of having a stroke. This is why it is so important for people to know their pulse. Visit knowyourpulse.org for more information.

It is important for everyone to know the signs of a stroke and act F.A.S.T.

Excellent - should put on the pinned posts IMO. It's a good reminder for us afibbers to check for these signs as (me included) tend to forget what to look for.

Just like to add that stroke sometimes presents differently in women.

When I had TIA I had phantosmia (unpleasant smell of something not there) but the most obvious symptoms was nausea, fatigue & cognitive dysfunction. I knew I didn’t feel right but couldn’t work out what to do about it & was on my own. Eventually I opened the front door & my neighbor saw me & knew there was something wrong so called an ambulance

I had left sided face paralysis & speech distortion but as I have those daily as a symptom of Myasthenia face & speech was not definitive for me.

Just saying what it can feel like.

What are the signs of before a stroke? The transient schemic attack or something. That can warn a stroke may happen soon? Are they the same symptoms. Or is this the sing you've already had a stroke. are the signs of a brain bleed the same as a clot stroke?
