I had not heard of this device before but someone posted about having one fitted in Newcastle after vale and artery replacement.

The Isolator Synergy ablation clamp is the FIRST and ONLY surgical ablation device offered with FDA approval for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation (Afib) and the only device either Catheter or Surgical to be approved for the treatment of persistent and long-standing persistent Afib

Seems to be for clamping the left atrial appendage in combo with PVI.

That is surely preventing any blood from going through whereas my Amplatzer amulet acts as a filter to possible clots.

looks like this would/could only be done with open chest cavity

Actually thinking back I remember hearing of something similar or an earlier version off this being fitted during surgery and wondered why it was not a standard thing to prevent a future clotting problem.
