Thinking of you all at the moment, especially those of you spending Christmas in lockdown. It’s 40 degrees C here at the moment and our air conditioner decided to die (great timing - will have to wait until the holidays are over before we can get it fixed). Christmas lunch tomorrow is at my brother’s so there will be air conditioning and a pool - not that I can go swimming with my moon boot.
I saw my EP yesterday who is happy with everything - BP, heart rate and rhythm all perfect. We had a good chat about COVID-19 vaccines. Also about the monumental advances in science and technology over the years and said that from 1998-2005 there were huge advances in electrophysiology with the understanding of being able to isolate rogue cells and pathways. Prior to 1998 if you were diagnosed with AF you were given Warfarin to reduce stroke risk and maybe some meds and you had to live with it. Since 2005 there has been incremental improvements and better technology but nothing as big as the earlier breakthroughs.
Anyway, keep well, safe and happy over the holidays.
Merry Christmas!🎄🎁

Very true Kaz. I think the first ablations for AF were done in about 1994 in France. I had my first in 2006. Trouble is that apart from making it easlier for the EPs to work there have been few real advances since then. Happy Christmas from a cold wet Devon UK.
A bit of “cold and wet Devon” sounds very appealing right now 🤪. I’ve been busy cooking today for our contribution for tomorrow’s lunch so I literally have been slaving over a hot stove 🥵 🔥xx
Have a great time over the holidays Kaz. Good to hear that you are doing well, keep drinking the water, especially if it’s that hot! All the best for 2021 to you ‘n yours......🎅
Right now a touch of very hot Perth might be welcome. Here in Ireland it is perishingly cold but nice for a bracing dog walk in a strong north west wind. Happy Christmas Kaz and all the best for the new year.
G'day Kaz,Strewth, send it my way to the pointy bit of Cornwall ... please, please I beg you. As I write it is 17.00 hrs Xmas Eve ..... it is also 4.7 degrees C .......... so what I'm trying to say is ....... I'll take all of your 40 degrees off you.
It is also wet, damp miserable with oceans more rain forecast.
Glad you are so fit and well, moonboot notwithstanding .... long may it continue ........ tell ya what, can you take a piccy of sun and blue skies and post it on here. May the force be with you. Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
Most likely be the capacitor, 2 minute fix, I keep spare ones, just in case!A very nice 23 c with a cold front approaching, which will take us down to 0 in the morning & -4 Saturday morning & yes, this is normal for North Florida, all the best for the holidays Kaz, don’t envy that 40 one bit lol
You can keep the 40C, about 25 is the max I'm comfortable with! I went for a brisk walk with a friend and the dog yesterday. It was 4C here, near the S coast with a stiff northerly, but that was perfect. However, we do have a storm moving in tomorrow evening with very strong winds forecast.
