No I haven't had problem with it, my hair is thin anyway but that's due to hypothyroidism.

Hi Trixie.

Welcome to the forum.

Certain med's can result in some hair loss. There are products you can buy from a chemist that may / may not help. I don't think they are cheap though and have no idea how effective they are.

My understanding is that hair loss caused by med's often reverses itself about 3 months after finishing the medication. With that in mind it's worth noting it may not be permanent ie once it's gone it's gone.

Still of concern for you though. Maybe get your afib under control first and then look in to the hair loss. I'm sure there will be a solution looking at the bigger picture.

Hair loss has been blamed on warfarin for some people so maybe anticoagulants in general can be a cause. That said mine just changed colour over the last sixteen years.

Slight hair loss with both Rivaroxaban and Apixaban. Don’t assume dramatic loss is due to anticoagulant.

Hello, I started Apixiban in June this year and after about two weeks noticed I was shedding hair. This has continued and I will wait till COVID is behind us and speak to doctor. I wish you well. I know how distressing it is. I’m fortunate that I had thick hair which helps.

Hi, I started Apixaban 12 months ago when ist diagnosed with PAF. Have had noticible hair loss first 3 months and then again September and October, think I was in sync with our 2 dogs hahaha, thankfully I seem to have settled down again now (not needing to untangle vacuum cleaner so much and hairbrush). 🤣 Was very worried at the time and so happy when it seemed to have stopped.

I lost about half my hair in 2 years of taking it. I have a small spot that my hair is very thin.
