I take Apixaban and I am immune suppressed (Mycophenolate) as I am aiming to keep a low WBC count and this month it is still too high - for me.

What is your count? Is your total WBC count too low or certain types of WBC? I am wondering what is your concern about Apixaban?

As far as I am aware you need to know the cause of the low WBC and treat the underlying condition which may be nutrition deficit, affects of chemotherapy or other drug therapies such as certain antibiotics and certain autoimmune diseases, amongst other causes.

I also take Apixiban and each blood test I have reveals a blood count of around 127000 which is considered low but not low enough to warrant intervention. The medical opinion is that it is the Apixiban causing the low count. I don't have any symptoms

Thank you. I hope it’s only that and nothing serious

Thanks for posting. I will make sure I am tested before I go onto ACs so that a subsequent test(s) will reveal the extent of any trend.

Hello

Yes now and then I get a call from my gp after a blood test. I have been on apixaban for 5 years.

I actually have a naturally low wbc apparently ,and he said you are probably unknowingly fighting off a minor infection They just repeat it in a few weeks and it's always been ok.

I can't recall the numbers but I was out of the normal range.
