Hi all. I just want to say thank you. This recovery process has been anything but easy, but reading your posts has given me hope. I will be 3 months post SVT ablation on October 21st, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever been more depressed or anxious in my life. I was lead to believe that this would be a walk in the park. That I would be completely healed and could return to normal after 1 week of recovery. That has been totally false. But reading your experiences, knowing that I’m not alone, has really kept me hanging onto hope and keeping optimistic. So again, just want to say thank you to those apart of this community.

That is exactly why we wrote the Recovering from Ablation fact sheet. So many people have been mislead into thinking they will be dancing the light fantastic next day, just as I was all those years ago when I had my first ablation.
At three months you are still in recovery believe me and it will slowly get better and better.
Dogluvr95, thank you for posting this! I've been to a few AF websites and even some Facebook pages that downplay the after-effects of an ablation. For so many people, it's NOT a walk in the park and I'm glad for this site and the information available about what to expect. I appreciate the honest assessment and experiences of others -- if one knows what to expect, things seem to go better and no great or shocking surprises.
I've also read (on other sites) that some people *drink the cool-aid* without reading for information, and have such a challenging time dealing with the recovery period--because they were essentially told all will be well, you'll be back to normal immediately, your AF will disappear, and any issues you have will be easily handled so you'll be right as rain. Sure, for some few people that may be true, but not the majority from where I sit! This is one of the reasons why I fear having an ablation!
I hope your recovery is steady and progresses smoothly!!
