I think you may need to talk to your GP as soon as possible, especially for the cough as Amiodarone can cause lung damage although it could be a lot of other things. How long have you been taking Amiodarone?

I’m really surprised you are taking both Amiodarone + Digoxin.

Hi I was given both by cardiologist whom I see again on Friday. I’ve been on them now for three weeks.

I was on Digoxin, Amioderone and Atenolol at one point when I was really bad CD.

Bigolbears, as CD says Amioderone can affect the lungs so speak with your doctor. I came off it after a couple of months. I developed skin rashes, the enzyme level in my liver skyrocketed and I developed bronchitis. The doctor said the bronchitis wasn’t necessarily linked to the Amioderone but it was January (so summer where I live in Australia) and I’ve only ever had bronchitis a couple of times in my life - usually after a bad cold in winter.

Look after yourself.

Make sure you keep out of the sun. I was on it during an Australian summer so could hardly go outside even when I was covered top to toe.

In the uk that’s not much of a problem 😂

Lovely few days from now on though - but sun not that strong I suppose because of the angle but if you go out wear total sunblock. I was lucky and didn't have any problem with the sun and amiodorone when I was on it for my second CV.

I was put on Digoxin for short time and Amiodarone by my local hospital. Felt awful, luckily my EP took me off it as soon as I saw him. I didn’t have your symptoms though. My first thought when reading your post is, I would go and get a COVID test. I did when I started coughing. It was simple and came back negative. Cough turned into a pretty rough cold.

Hi Linda. No not COVID.

Amiodarone should be taken off the market! Causes all kinds of organ damage.

BobD often remarks that Ameodarone doesn’t have side effects - it just has effects.

I was on it for a very short time years ago and had to stop taking it as I felt so awful.

TA DA Breaking news , spoke to Cardio nurse, arranged to go first thing for blood tests , back at 16:00 to see her, and the consultant.

I politely told her I'm not taking that Amiodarone. ever again !!!!

My EP said it was ‘a terrible drug’ when he was persuading me I needed an ablation. So with that ‘recommendation’ I wouldn’t take it 😐

Hi, I was prescribed Amiodorone a couple of years ago and yes, I felt really nauseous all the time. On the plus side I couldn't face milk in my tea and had to drink peppermint tea. I lost a stone but I must admit I was off most food as well. I could only manage cream of vegetable soup that my daughter made for me . I've been hospitalised two or three times with high AF and fluid round my heart and lungs. I've been prescribed 10mg Bisprolol and Digoxon 250mcg and my AF is controlled more or less . I'm managing now and see the cardio next January, God willing.

I hope everyone feel a lot better really soon.
