Post ablation heart rate

Hello there! Hope everyone’s keeping safe and staying well. Just would like to check if a heart rate of between 104 to 117 bpm after an ablation is a norm? How long will this last? Thanks.

Is that your resting heart rate of is it up because you have been walking about or doing things? Sit down and rest for half an hour and see what it is then.

Hi. Yes resting is about 98 or 95.

I wouldn't say that rate was normal, but it isn't unusual. I had to have a cardioversion about 6 weeks after my ablation and that put me back on track for quite a long while.

Can you call your AF nurse or EP's secretary to let them now this is happening?

How long ago did you have your ablation?

Hi. Thanks for responding. Just last week. 😀 Planning yo share my experience. Resting is about 95-100. After walking and doing light house chores will be about 115.

Typically I would expect a post ablation rate of 85-95 so that is a little higher than normal. It may take six or more months for this to return to lower levels. At 117 you are getting close to atrial tachyardia so maybe get an ecg done by your GP and mail it to your EP just in case.

Thanks Bob. Will do that if it continues to be on the high side ie 110-117 at rest.

Mine has continued to be high, now two years...Resting has gone done a bit but runs at 84 most of the time, and out walking, 104-116. Usually don't notice...occasionally on a hill I am aware of it!

Can’t remember what it was immediately after ablation but generally it was about 20bpm above normal for some time. It was in the high 80s and took almost a year to go back to pre ablation levels. That’s resting heart beat.

When was the ablation carried out.

My HR was 85 to 95 at rest after my ablation. Exercise, stress or heat could bring it up to 105 to 115. It took several months to normalize. I had the flu 3 months post ablation and my heart rate was running 115. I am 11 months post ablation and my resting HR is 65 to 75 and I can easily get it up to 125 with exercise.

Hi, I had a cryoblation 3 weeks ago and I too am experiencing a resting HR of between 105 and 115 which can last for hours and then drop back down to 75ish. the slightest movement can make it jump up. I just wondered how you are getting on now as this post is 9 months old? Did it settle on its own or did you need intervention?
