So after just over 3 weeks of being in AF it seems that after 48 of flecainide I am back in NSR. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Good advice thank you. I wasn’t told to but of a morning it’s on an empty stomach purely by luck.

Good to hear. I think Flecainide must be one of the most successful drugs for halting AF.

Taken about 48 hours but definitely done the job. Going forward my consultant was talking about being able to stop all the tablets. Do you know if this is normally the case?

Some people take Flecainide twice daily and it can prevent further attacks. Others take it as what we call a pill-in-the-pocket (PIP for short) this means they only take Flec when they have an AF attack and then when normal beat is established stop. A lot of us start out with PIP and then end up taking the tablet twice daily.

If you've only had one attack, who knows you may never have another one as something may well have triggered it: stress, lack of fluids to keep you hydrated, alcohol, eating foods containing artificial additives, too much sugar. The list goes on.

Wishing you well.

Let’s hope they can arrange quickly for you. Felt a bit drowsy when taking it but apart from that I have had no other side effects. Good luck
