I had a cardio version a month ago now and still get the odd sharp pain here and there I have felt quite anxious about it is this normal? Did anyone else experience this the discharge letter from the hospital says you’ll feel better in about a week I feel great in myself just there little twinges?

I’m not medically trained Kirsty but that does seem unusual. I’ve only had one CV, so clearly not best placed to advise, hopefully others will respond soon. If it was me, I would be inclined to contact the hospital tomorrow as see what they have to say......

My cardioversion only lasted three days, so well done for a month and counting. I also felt great in myself until horrendous palpitations and twinges in heart started, oh and the burns from the pads that delivered the shocks - took three tries before NSR. Cardioversion isn't a cure for Afib, but it can give some relief, it just depends on how long it lasts. Any worries then contact the people in hospital who gave you the treatment. Good luck.

Thanks for the replys 😀 I think I’ll defiantly give the hospital a call tomorrow just for some peace of mind I have a pacemaker check download on the 15th and they said if that shows anything I’ll have a follow up so hopefully all is ok and it’s just my body recovering xx

I never had anything like that in my first three cardioversions. My fourth was another story but not relevant to yours. Best speak to your doctor.

Short-term anxiety when we get ectopics is pretty normal. Anything beyond this is best taken up with one's electrocardiologist. If he or she is too aloof to consult with patients after doing the procedure then I think it best to consult with one's regular cardiologist.

I'm speaking from experience in the US, within the Kaiser network. If you're in the UK the most efficient path may be somewhat different.l

I had my 3rd one almost 2 weeks ago and not had twinges with any of them, just itchy burn marks for a few days.
