Ectopics Chest pain

Ok where to start - 68 with heart problems since my 50s - 3 dc conversions two ablations later until 3 years ago when it was discovered I had a congenital heart disorder anomalous venous drainage - which was repaired by open heart surgery (warden procedure for enthusiasts!)

Since then the main symptom of continual a/f has largely gone away to be replaced for short periods with paroxysmal a/f or supra ventricular ectopics but unusually coupled with left sided chest pain during these bouts

Unfortunately the bouts have got longer and the chest pain worse recently

My consultant who is difficult to contact during the covid crisis has increased my bisoprolol to 2.5 bd I also take apixiban and flecaide

As the chest pain continued my GP advised me to go to A and E at the local hospital ( who wants to go there at this time!) at which they advised me after various basic tests that I hadn’t had a heart attack ( I never thought I had ) and referred me back to my consultant

The hospital In London is closed to non covid patients and the chance of getting an Echo or MRI in the current climate remote as is a consultation

The continued more regular ectopics and the chest pain coupled with exhaustion anxiety and discomfort is becoming hard to bear I am not even sure if I could have another ablation to resolve the issue - ( the usual escape route)

I exercise sensibly and have in the past had ectopics when at rest now there is no pattern

I also feel like a zombie on the current increased level of beta blocker

I am not sure what else I can do I have become hooked on the Kardia device which hasn’t given me a normal reading for weeks - any suggestions to alleviate the ectopics would be appreciated and any information as to whether anyone has had any left sided chest pain during these episodes would also be welcome

Thanks in anticipation Keep well and stay safe during this crisis M

Are you taking a magnesium supplement? Some people swear that this helps, either taurate, glycinate or citrate orally, or you can buy a spray containing it or even salts to put in your bath .

It may also help you to have at look at York Cardiology posts put on YouTube by Dr Sanjay Gupta, he's the most helpful medic for AF. Will go and find you the link.

Thank you for taking the time to reply I haven’t heard of magnesium supplements I will certainly look into it

I have seen some of Dr Gupta posts but not this one very interesting explanation

I will look at some more to see what’s else I can do to alleviate this particularly bad bout

Thanks again

Kind regards Malcolm
