Hi Folks hoping all are safe and well. Unfortunately my ablation feels like it has failed. It’s been six months since I had my procedure and hadn’t had AF until 3 days ago which only lasted for 2.1/2 hours. From then I have been experiencing an unusual rhythm 2 quick beats then a very slow beat and I feel breathless, like my left lung is clogged up. Has anyone experienced this or know what it is. Thanks for any enlightenment.

Confused and Disappointed
Everyone is different. It took a year after my ablation for Paroxysimal Af/AFL episodes to disappear. I might have a small episode but I don’t notice it any more. Anxiety made everything worse. I followed the advice on this forum and it helped me tremendously. So hang in try and give it more time. As Bob and many others say “your heart has been thru a lot and needs time to heal”. Good luck
Yes .... it took a year for my heart to settle after the ablation. Now, 4 years later I get the odd event but much less than even the first year. I have to be careful with alcohol and extreme heat, but otherwise am much better. I imagine I might need a top up at some point, but am very grateful for where I am since the ablation.
Good luck. Work out any triggers.... including anxiety.... and I am sure you will feel better soon!
Hi
Could you be having ectopic beats??
Hi Blavet it feels like ectopics and when I recorded it on my Apple Watch it shows 2 beats together and then a slow beat but it’s the breathlessness is a challenge alongside the chest pain.
It does sound like ectopics. 2 normal beats then one dropped beat. Stressing about it can make them worse but it would be a good idea to get an ecg holster monitor on you just to check. The ecg will tell the docs where the ectopic focus is coming from. It may settle down again on its own. Does raising your heart rate get rid of them and the chest discomfort?? Also what type of ablation did you have?
I’ve had that, I think it is an ectopic rhythm. I had it and variations of on and off for a week and then never again! I had AF first then the odd beats. I found it stopped if I moved about and raised my HR a bit but if I stood still it began again. Weird. I tend to go into af if my HR goes too high or too low I think so maybe my heart struggling to adjust?
I hope yours goes away too, best wishes 💜
Try Magnesium taurate from Cardiovascular Health on Amazon.
Do you have normal beats in between the combination of two quick beats and the slow beats?
sounds similar to something I experience from time to time, especially if I am ill or stressed.
It's called bigeminy, I also sometimes get its big sister trigeminy.
Horrible feeling, but benign

3 years on from my ablation and still NSR
Thanks Mikee69 I have read about this and it’s very similar to what am experiencing. I have been in touch with my Cardiologist who wants me to have an ECG, a chest X-ray and bloods done followed by a 7 day monitor on Monday so hopefully will get an answer soon. Will update the group on any progress.
