I have been advised that I have " None Valvular Atrial Fibulation" what ever that is? as many will know from my posts despite having cancer I keep myself fit by running every day and weight lifting 3 x a week, but this past week I have been so very weak, lacking energy, huge blood marks on my arms and twice in the past week when out on my run my right leg felt as if disconnected from my body and a bit floppy, I slowed down and after a few yards it felt ok. I have been on 60mg of Lixiana edoxaban daily for about 4 months and on reading the side affects my medication is classed as a " Black box warning" medication. What is that? Note : Despite having had cancer for the past 2 years my consultant said he doesn't envisage any treatment yet. Question? has any one else suffered this feeling of weakness due to Edoxaban and what is a Black Box warning? keep well every one and this corona virus business will soon be a bad memory.

Firstly, I'm not medically trained so I must say speak with your pharmacist or Doctor.
From Google....
The Blackbox warning is that the drug should not be suddenly stopped in patient with NVAF. I don't think this is limited to Edoxban but all Factor Xa inhibitors.
NVAF, again according to Google....
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is an irregular heart rhythm in which your heart flutters instead of beating. You may have heard of two types of AFib: valvular and nonvalvular.
Valvular AFib affects people who have mitral valve disease or an artificial valve.
Nonvalvular AFib is caused by other things, such as high blood pressure or an overactive thyroid gland. Doctors don’t always know what the cause is.
I take Edoxaban and tolerate it very well.
Please see your Doctor and tell him/her your symptoms.
Thank you for your response, much appreciated I have contacted my surgery but no reply except a message telling me to txt or email as they are short staffed and under pressure.
I see you have chronic lymphocytic leukemia and AF. So do I. CLL often causes unusually debilitating fatigue and bruising and it commonly isn't treated right away. Your CLL doctor needs to know about both of these symptoms. Have you had your blood work done lately?
Thank your for your post and sorry to hear you have the same problems as I have.
Yep! had a my blood test, apparently my White Blood Cell count is 73000, which suggests I am open to any infection, how ever ! up until almost 2 years ago I used to get hay fever, cold sores and several sneezes and colds , yet! since then I get nothing, no colds, no hay fever and no cold sore [very odd] and I was working 7 days a week up until 4 months ago but felt it best I resign. My last appointment with my consultant was 2 weeks ago by phone due to the current corona virus situation and has booked me in for a consultation on the 5th August and blood test prior to that. Despite my odd symptoms I still exercise daily l;mess for weight training. That said I am not really worried, but Jayne my daughter is and try's to wrap me in cotton wool. Keep well and don't let the bugs bite.
I have been very fortunate with my CLL, my counts being near normal and getting very few colds and infections. I feel blessed. My AF has been more of a nuisance than my CLL.
Hi marcyh, my daughter is brilliant but sooooo bossy and interrogates me daily about how I feel and told me off this morning for doing too much, she caught me in my shed doing exercises. Enough is Enough she barked at me.
Dad, she says in her bossy voice, stop now or your in trouble. I couldn't help laughing cos it reminded me when as a soldier I was in charge of the remembrance parade at Brig some years ago and shouting my parade ground orders to those on parade she said to her Mum, "Can't Dad shout loud" is he angry! oh the innocence of youth. good days
Didn't go for my run this morning, had a strange nose bleed and my legs felt like lead, any way a couple of weeks ago I felled a tree cos it was stopping the sun shining on the patio, this morning my daughter and g/daughter were trying to take out the tree stump and struggling. I giggled at my daughter and Said " Remember some years ago doing your home work and we discussed kinetic energy, fulcrums and levers, I could see her grimacing so smiling I came inside. I feel quite smug as just looking out of my window the 2 of them are hanging onto a scaffolding pole with a log under it as the fulcrum levering out the stump. but the fun of seeing this is spoilt by my heart trying to burst out of my chest. don't know why? I have been lazy doing nothing, its rather strange. cant wait to see the consultant. keep well and keep safe every one
