Forum for Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Hello all

I have had a few messages from forum members asking if we can set up a forum for COVID-19. I don not work for Health Unlocked, so this is not something I am able to do.

However, I have noticed a massive increase in threads on this forum about coronavirus, and I need to ask that this be reduced where possible.

I have had a look on the list of communities, and found a forum called

Positive Wellbeing During Self-Isolation

healthunlocked.com/positive...

Perhaps this might be a suitable forum for posts about this topic.

Of course, if your question relates to AF and coronavirus, please search through the forum to find any relevant topics that have already been posted. You can do this by clicking Posts at the top, and then search forum - please see attached image for help.

AF Association is still running - 01789 867502 or info@afa.org.uk albeit from home!

Best wishes

Rachel

Thank you Rachel, this looks just the thing we need.

Thanks Rachel - the problem is partly that this forum is our familiar family of AF sufferers whose minds are probably full of the same short- and long-term concerns about our lives as mine.

Haha! I have set up my office upstairs in the spare room - No TV, and a good distance from the kitchen for tea and snacks! The dog is loving having me home all day though!

Stay well

Rachel

If people put [COVID19} into the header when a thread is started, those who don’t wish to read about coronavirus could disregard those threads.

We are living through some very challenging times at present and people are worried about a lot of things; Mental health issues included.

PLEASE remember that there are people out there who will try to use this to their own advantage.

If someone knocks on your door and offers to help or 'phones or emails you BE EXTRA VIGILANT!

It's easy to pose as someone from the local Social Services Dept or claim to be from a particular charity or group set up to help.

There could even be people claiming that they have no money to buy food and asking for help.

I could knock on your door and say that I'm from the Council and we are knocking on people's doors to warn them against scammers...

I could arrive with a small box of essentials that you might need... just let me in and I'll help you...

You can't take anything at face value. Don't let anyone into your house unless you know FOR CERTAIN that they are genuine.

The authorities are unlikely to let their staff use this method because of "social distancing" so it is likely to be a scam anyway.

Ask for their details and a number you can phone to check, then shut the door while you do that.

Don't just ring the number they have given you - it could be their accomplice.. find the number of the Dept or Charity they claim to be from and ask them if they are doing this.

Stay vigilant - keep safe.
