It works brilliantly for me, using flecainide.
I take a low dose of bisoprolol daily which is recommended for pip as apparently flecainide can cause flutter.
EP's instruction: Within 20 mins of AF starting take a 100 tablet. If it hasn't worked after 3 hours take another 100 tablet. Maximum dose is 300/day.
Always have the tablets with you and be aware that you will need liquid to enable you to swallow the tablets as they are a bit powdery and will not go down without. I therefore always have a bottle of water in my car.
I have paroxysmal AF although a series of ablations has resulted in my episodes occurring much less frequently.
I used PIP for many years whenever I had an episode and it returned me to NSR probably on 90% of the occasions. On the occasions where it was unsuccessful I invariably had to have a cardioversion.
PIP should only be adopted following advice from your EP.
Be aware that although it worked for me I always felt pretty heavy and nauseous for about 24 hours after taking the tablets.

Yes, it worked for a while but after a few years the AF broke through - I was told to take 300mg immediately on an empty stomach. I then went on daily Flecainide which again worked for a while until AF broke through that as well so went to ablation.
Yes I love using my meds “ as needed”. I havent had any a fib in 2 yr but it always stopped it, usually with a couple hours, last time it was 12.
