I have been on Apixaban for five months with no issues. Over the years I have had two spinal operations, one lumbar and one cervical. This has left my thoracic spine apparently compensating and giving me problems now and then. Last year a pain clinic doctor told me to take amitryptiline on an 'as needs' basis, which I didn't think you could do. At that time I was not prescribed Apixaban. Since then I have been told by a doctor in A+E that it is ok to take these meds together, but that is not what I am reading on-line, in fact it is just confusing. At the moment I am in a lot of muscular and nerve pain, so any advice would be most welcome. Thanks

I've seen that quite a few forum members on here say that they take Amitriptyline at the lowest dose 10mg, with no effects. I was prescribed that dose, but unfortunately the pills were coloured blue which makes me a bit hyperactive. Wouldn't mind taking them in the morning, but at night when they are usually taken is a no, no for me.
I was prescribed amitriptyline for nerve pain, also take Apixaban. My GP told me to start low then work up if really necessary and my physio told me you can't take it as needed like paracetamol as the effect builds up.
