Anyone else got the Fitbit versa 2

I had a Fit-bit versa 2 for Christmas and i just love it so thought id sing its praises.

Apart from doing the usual counting steps , it tracks your sleep so you get to see how much time you spent in the various sleep stages Rem,Deep,Light, telling you what yours was like and explaining what each means and if you get enough quality sleep,

Also a really handy addition which i dont believe is on any other watch device is your breathing rate is monitored throughout the night and a graph tells you if you are likely to suffer from sleep apnea which is really useful for those not sure . 10 out of 10 Fitbit worth every cent

I have the Versa 2 as well. I had no idea it monitored breathing and I’m feeling kind of foolish that I can’t find it anywhere. I do like the Versa2 though I have had issues with it not picking up my heart rate consistently which my Fitbit Alta has never had problems with and I’m not sure why. I like that it has Alexa as we have many smart home features that it can run. I have had an Apple Watch which I liked but with the Versa 2 being half the cost I decided to go with it. Except for some periods where it apparently thinks I have no heart I’m happy with it.

Hi Sharc

when you look at your sleep graph scroll down further to see another graph called Estimated Oxygen level im not sure if you have to be on Premium for this but from what i heard it is being rolled out to all fitbit versa watch users.

Try updating your app every now and then mine was only bought at christmas and so far im really pleased with it i like the way it encourages you to walk every hour 250 steps and i like to see my sleep score and now the oxygen levels while your sleeping though they do say it is not a medical device for sleep apnea more an indication of something not being quite right if you consistently get high spikes during the night time to see a doctor for more checkups also i like getting mail through it, weather forecasts ,2 minute relaxation breathing exercises im a fan

Thanks for the info. I got mine at Christmas as well. I'm looking on the app but all I see besides the sleep stages is sleeping heart rate and restlessness, both requiring the premium subscription. I guess the oxygen levels is also dependant upon having the premium though it's not even listed as an option on my app. My Versa 2 just updated yesterday but maybe I will have to wait a bit longer for another update. I do like the add on apps for the watch and also the ability to customize the phone app and have what stats you want on it. Being able to play music on it is great as well though I have yet to set this up as I usually have my phone on me. This is my second Versa 2 as the first one I received didn't read heartrate at all. Maybe I'm just unlucky lol. Still I do recommend this especially for those that want a good smartwatch with health features. It doesn't do ecg's like the new Apple watches but at half the cost it's great. Plus it is waterproof and it looks great. I have gotten a few compliments on it.

From what ive read you just have to wait patiently and one morning it will be there.

You should be able to access 7 days free trial of Premium.

I'm always pleased in the morning to see what my sleep score is though my best so far is 86 I'm happy with that.

For ecg I use the Kardia there is absolutely nothing better than Kardia for tracking A/F I wouldnt be without it and can recommend if you havent got it

With the versa 2 they are working on adding an actual sleep apnea addition.in the near future and as you say it's a good looking watch anyway I have the one with the pink strap but will be getting a few other colors .

Hands down it's better than the Apple watch my son.has one and it looks very similar to mine but cant do most of the things that the versa 2 can do.

You and I have made the right choice

I do use the sleep score but it only shows me I’m sleeping as poorly as I think I am lol. I do have the Kardia and I agree it’s great. Still if my Versa2 keeps misfiring I’m not sure I can stick with it. Heart rate is pretty important. It makes me sad as I really think it’s a nice looking watch with other great attributes and hate the thought of having to find something else. As a smart watch it’s great. It sounds like the heart rate issue is hit and miss. You are one of the lucky ones.

The Versa series has become infamous for not properly tracking heart rate which is used for calculating most if not all fitness statistics. If you go to fitbit's forum site for the Versa series you'll see what I mean. Along with the customer complaints you'll see promises going back nearly 2 years from the company that they will correct the problem. These are hard to find as only the most current complaint threads will be available as their employees stop and eventually delete any threads that hurt their sales.

I would copy links here but frankly I'm so burned out from dealing with the Fitbit Versa problems that I just don't have the energy right now to spend more time at their site. Oh, and the watch has no idea of what to do when the end user is in afib.

If you do decide to participate in their forums, be aware that they don't allow any mention of competitors. Thus, if you want to talk about the Apple watch, say fruit instead of Apple and it'll usually get by. If you want to talk about Alivecor, you're out of luck.

I've only had the Versa 2 I had read there were problems with.previous models that have been corrected with this one so fingers crossed I wont get involved with forums

As I've just said on a previous post The Kardia is for A/Fib I just want the watch for pleasure

I wouldn't have bothered writing if the problems had been cured in the Versa 2. According to many posts in The Fitbit forum the two has the same problems the one has plus a greater propensity to be bricked when the latest firmware updates are added.

From your reply I gather you'd rather be happy and ignorant than knowledgeable. That's fine. However, if you'd like to know how inaccurate the heart rate is use any aerobics machine at a local gym and compare what your watch says to what the machine says and what your Kardia says. The Kardia and the aerobics machine will show very similar readings while your watch will be randomly wrong though usually much higher than reality.

It’s unfortunate that Fitbit isn’t taking the issue seriously. Mine will go days with no issues and reads heart rate accurately when compared to other methods. But when it fails it fails big. It usually won’t even show a heart rate when it’s acting up but if it does it will swing between really low and really high numbers. I do know it’s definitely not Afib. As a straight smart watch I love it but if heart rate is important then not so much. Being it’s a Fitbit which is geared toward being active then heart rate is extremely important one would think. My little Fitbit Alta HR is always spot on in comparison but doesn’t have all the other features. Did you find a different brand that works for you?

Yes I have the original Garmin HR watch and found that was very erratic I liked it for its other features though but wanted something more precise for the heart rate so far so good I think at night I will wear one on each wrist and see what the results are

I think trying both at once is a good idea. I’m very curious to see the results.

When sitting still or laying down I found the Versas to be pretty accurate. The problem starts when one moves around.

Mine has been in agreement on heart rate with bike at gym...just seems to clock more steps than I was used to seeing and I've not been that much more active. But the Alta records were very helpful in looking at erratic heart behavior before ablation.

Compared to the ALta, the Versa reports much more activity...not sure it's entirely accurate but sleep stats are very much alike on both watches. I really like the larger readout:)

I love mine too. There is an app called FibriCheck for the Versa which will take the heart readings and confirm if you are in AF or SVT etc reviewed by specialist .

Costs£10 a month but it is great if like me you’re a newbie with PAF/ Atrial Tachycardia. Gives me something to show cardiologist when I have an attack
