How high is it? Depending on individual cases, sometimes suppose slightly over 100 is preferred than adding more medication's per some guidelines.

Jim

Hello

Pulse rate can increase and vary on a personal basis depending on things such as activity levels and stress, a rate over 100 taking into account other factors such as these can be normal.

If you are worried please speak with your doctor who may review your medication and offer you further advice.

Our Patient Services Team are available if you would like to discuss this with them, please feel free to call 01789 867502 or email info@afa.org.uk

Hi WK.

I too am on sotalol at the max dose of 80mg 3 times a day. I suggest talking to your doctor about the best dose for your needs - we are all different.

I'll put a copy and paste below.

Paul

If someone is on Solotopol and digoxin, and their pulse is still above 100, it's important to consult with your doctor for personalized advice Your doctor may consider adjusting the dosage of the current medications, adding or changing medications, or investigating other potential causes for the elevated heart rate.

Sometimes it takes the body a while to get used to the drugs and start behaving. How long have you been taking Sotalol and Digoxin?

Tell your doctor if it is making you feel ill.

I was like this when I had atrial flutter rather than atrial fibrillation. In my case the digoxin did reduce my rate but I was told that AFl can be much more difficult to control. Is your arrhythmia definitely AF? It's possible to have both, of course.

I am taking sotalol 80g twice a day, and was getting frequent fast heart rate above 180, it only stopped after I adjusted my diet, gluten free, alcohol free, vegetarian and boosted potassium and magnesium in my diet. I stay away from processed food and above all drink 2 liters of water daily. Food rich in magnesium and pottassium will help you to relax and slow diaphragmatic nasal breathing. Please keep taking your medication.

Hi

My new private Cardiologist tried a Calcium Channel Blocker.

I began on 1/2 dose Diltriazem 180mg.

TOO MUCH. and I was on Bisoprolol 10mg which I reduced to 5mg.

Between our NZ Healthline and later NZ Heart Foundation nurse, settled on and have been on this regime

AM Diltiazem 120mg

PM Bisoprolol 2.5mg

After a year H/Rate dropped to 60s Day.

110-130. /. 69. 60s. Day Rate

47 H/Rate night. Always regardless of meds or none for BP. Cold shoulders.

I had Stroke Sept 2019 after bad Australian flu. 2 ladies on my 12 day Russian River Cruise.

With AF.

Found a shadow on my thyroid in my Carotid arteries scan. Investigated. Took until Feb early 2020 to have thyroidectomy with 12 right lymphs removed. A 1.9 mmn carcinoma right lobe, bit in left, 2 lymphs infected.

When the Endocrinologist exclaiming to wait 6 months post stroke.

Both the surgeon and anaesthetist who had had thyroid cancer said a.s.a.p! His had spread.

3 different operations since stroke and H/Rate under 100 to allow them to happen!

I had 186 H/Rate Day on Metoprolol with pauses at night. 1 year 3 months. Bisoprolol 156 H/Rate Day. Introduced Diltiazem ! Since controlled AF and H/Rate.
