Further to my previous post/rant. I, m still getting bouts of AF, 6 in total but these are only lasting a few minutes, th longest 45 All others less than 10.After my visit to A&E l was told to increase my Bisoprolol by 2.5mg to a total of 12.5mg.Judging by the accounts of others this is quite high. My resting pulse is mid 60,s I have little to no side effects from this drug.

Well I guess we could say “we told you so” but most of us wouldn’t be that unkind! It REALLY take a while for the heart to settle down after the trauma of an ablation and fortunately, you are now showing signs of improving but it is still very early days. Hopefully you have read the factsheet, probably several times now, so you will be aware that an elevated pulse rate is very common at this time. I suggest you keep an eye on your pulse rate because, as you say, your current dose of Bisoprolol is high and if your heart rate begins to reduce naturally over time, then it could get dangerously low. 60 bpm is good, but if it starts to get lower, you should contact your doctor and make him/her aware......all the best.
I’m glad to hear things seem to be moving in the right direction ... it’s SO hard knowing what’s ‘ok’ and just the normal healing process, and what’s to worry about, isn’t it?
It’s great you can tolerate that level of beta blocker - and I’m sure as you heal up and your heart settles you’ll be reducing it down again.
Hopefully you’re on the home straight now! Very best wishes x
