So I'm having a weird issue at the moment. I've started to take my ramipril just before I go to sleep lately and last night was awful.
About an hour after taking it I had a massive heart pause that pulled me awake when I was dosing whilst reading.
Then I had another huge 'pause' when I turned over to go to sleep. I jumped to check my pulse twice and couldn't feel it. It stressed me out so much I shot up in bed, felt like my heart had stopped.
Does anybody else have this issue, or has experienced it with BP meds like that?

Hi, been taking for about 3 years now. Never had any issues before so I'm guessing the ramipril isn't the problem now. Just getting a bit desperate for reasons now!
What size dose do you take? The absorption time of Ramipril is about 12 hours so a possible strategy is to split the dose in half and take it on rising and on retiring.
I've been taking Ramipril for years and i've never experienced any ill effects at all....I take it with my Beta blocker and Bendroflumethiazide as soon as i put my legs out of bed in the morning....I take my anticoagulant with my breakfast and i have no problems.
