Hi all I have just had results of an MRI and have lesions on my brain and based on my symptoms on and off over the years I am seeing neurologist tomorrow to see if It’s MS. I’m sure he may want to do more tests ? Based on this is wise to go ahead with ablation it postpone 😳 ?

I had an ablation 3 years ago and now I have a ( disputed ) diagnosis of MS. I checked your age as MS is rare for someone (me?) starting over the age of 50.

The main effects are that AF makes my spasticity worse as it makes me feel rotten.

I suspect that your Neurologist will want a lumber puncture done. This is a scary prospect but I want to reassure you. I had it and I felt no pain whatsoever. You have to lie on your side and be very still. Afterwards you have to lie still for 2 hours. They warned me about headache but I didn't have anything. I had to stop Pradaxa anticoagulant for 48hrs before the procedure.

Thanks yes if they suggest lumber puncture I’m refusing had one years ago as had suspected bleed on the brain and I was in agony for 5 days with the worse headache of my life felt like it was been crushed from the inside. Never again. Dr thinks I must have a spinal leak after they did the procedure. So this has put me off I’m 47 been having neurological symptoms since my stroke in 2010 but they think could be MS my muscles continuously twitch randomly every where since May this year and bouts of vertigo and vibrating muscles / stiff leg ( painful to move ) but may be could be from stroke will soon find out . Have you by any chance taken Metronidazole (Flagyl) before this started. This can be neurotoxic and cause lesions in the brain.

Hi, I have lesions on the brain and have been through an ablation. I don’t know how you came to have your MRI, but my diagnosis came about partly by chance. I then tested negatively for MS. This did not stop me having a subsequent ablation, but your circumstances might be totally different. If you would like to compare notes I would be happy if you posted direct. What I can say is that multiple diagnoses can be very concerning but don’t lose hope as the doctors worked through this with me and found a way forward. Best of luck
