This sounds mad. I had a pacemaker implanted in April this year. A few weeks ago I decided to start wearing an old watch and had a new battery fitted in it. After 10 days the watch stopped working and I assumed there was something wrong with it. Today I bought and started wearing, quite an expensive new watch. I have been wearing this watch for only 11 hours and it has now also stopped. Is this just a coincidence or is the pacemaker interfering with the batteries? I must say that neither of the watches appeared to interfere with the pacemaker and I feel perfectly okay. Anybody had similar experience?

Logically as an engineer I can see no reason for this unless maybe this is a pendant watch as worn by nurses etc and hangs above the PM. I would not be surprised to read this with a mechanical watch as some people can stop watches . My mother who did not have a PM could never wear a conventional watch as her magnetism stopped them and it was not until quartz watches came along that she was able to wear one.
Regarding interference with the PM, it would need a more powerful electromagnetic field to affect that. I understand that ceramic hobs need to be kept at arms length and doing mig or tig welding with one is not a good idea but little else is contraindicated. (lets not even talk about 5G. ) There was a some press speculation a few years ago about key less entry cars and such but none of my enquiries produced any actual evidence of negative affects.
I suggest you go back to the shop where you bought the watch and speak to them.
Yes thank you for your reply. I will go back to the shop. All my watches are wrist watches and except for two years when I used a Fitbit I have worn the same type of watches all my life. Have just this morning put on my third watch with a brand new battery so watch this space !!!!!!!!
