Hi I have afib and take apixaban anticoagulant and verapamil which seem to be keeping my afib under control but sometimes once or twice a week I get a muzzy head and am wondering if it’s a side effect of the medication I so also have peripheral neuropathy caused by cervical spondylosis so my neck can be quite stiff but I’ve had that for 30 yrs or perhaps it’s the pregabalin I’ve been taking for last 9/10 months for pain relief and was wondering if anyone else out there is getting this thanks for any reply i

I've been on apixaban 5 mg bd since last October. Initially I was also taking sotalol for my atrial fibrillation, which definitely made me feel "muzzy", to borrow your very useful word. It wasn't the apixaban. I know this because I later discontinued the sotalol (it didn't work) and moved to flecainide. So maybe you could chat to your doc about whether your other meds might cause the muzzy feeling. I'm pretty sure I know the feeling that you describe. It makes you feel quite out of it! Not nice at all. Maybe you should ask if it's a common side effect of verapamil?
