I couldn't cope with Bisoporol side effects felt really poorly. Diltiazam is a calcium channel blocker & suits me much better. We are all so different though in how we tolerate medication
Thanks for your reply, problem being feeling good at present on diltiazam taken it for many years. But doc says looking to the future it will help stop further heart failure. Had open heart surgery 15 years ago, and pacemaker 18 months ago, this has helped enormously.so I will give it a try although others have had bad effect, here’s hoping this will be ok.
I was on bisoprolol for about 2 years. Overall it worked well once I had adjusted to it. I guess it did make me a bit more tired and gave me the odd headache but I just fought against that by going to the gym more. It does affect fitness tolerance more than Diltiazem but it wasn't the end of the world for me.
My main issue with it was that it seemed to increase my palpitations (I was on 5mg). In terms of blocking AF it was perfect.
Everyone experiences these things differently and I guess no one really wants to be on any of these drugs so subconsciously we're all looking to knock them down.
I was put on bisoprolol for AF With Aspirin. But my consultant after various tests and a discussion said i should drop aspirin and apixaban. I have been successfully on these for a few years.
