I’ve been on metoprolol xl to control SVT. I feel like a zombie! Ablation is 6-7 weeks away. Anyway doctor says I can switch to cardizem, but I’m not sure what to do. The devil you know, etc. any experiences?

Cardizem or metoprolol for svt?????
Depends on how much you are prescribed. 240mg made me feel dopey, 120mg is fine. We all react differently to meds so only one way to find out really X
I totally relate. I was on 5 different bp meds including lisinipro and metoprolol. I got up and just relocated to another place to lay down. I am 3 weeks post abalation and I feel wonderful. I seriously never thought I would feel good again. I have to be careful. I want to go, go, go but I am taking it slow and easy. Before my abalation I tried to get info on this tired, lethargic death sentence. No one said much at all. I am hopefully that I will continue to feel like myself. I had clearly drug this around with me like a ball and chain for a really long time. Good luck on your surgery.
So glad to hear you’re doing so well! I’m scared of the ablation but looking forward to it in sone ways so I can come off the beta blocker. Everyone is different I guess—some people are fine on them, others zombie like. I will say that every nurse, pharmacist, doc I’ve talked to said they hear this a LOT.
I was apprehensive. I researched all I could. Was blessed found awesome EP who was so positive and assertive. I never skipped a beat. (Little heart felt humor there. Sorry to good to resist.) Understanding what Afib is and what causes it helped me calm myself. I also had a flutter. So both sides of my heart were acting out. They fixed everything. I thing positive energy goes a long way. My results were fantastic. Now on to Trulicity and Repatha, B12 shots, and the gym...I'm back!!!
