Just found this site and how I wish I had found it before! So many lovely posts from people giving reassurance to us new suffers..I have been struggling with af since January this year , not just physically but mentally too. Found it so hard to get my head round and yes I was frightened to go to sleep. It can make you fear the worst for sure and nobody talks to you about how you are coping emotionally with it sadly. Meds by the bucket load had no effect and was in hospital more often than out . Had a cardio version which worked for 2 days and then back it came again. I was put on emergency list for ablation as in constant af which terrified me ( I am the biggest coward ever !) and had it 2 months ago and waiting for follow up appointment in September. Feeling a lot better, it took a while, but fingers crossed i am getting there. Can anyone tell me what to expect when I go back next month please ?

You will probably have an ECG and a quick meeting with a nurse or your EP to discuss how things are going. Possibly blood tests and perhaps an echocardiogram. If everything is going OK you may be discharged

Thank you Mikee69.I have a list of questions lol ...Fingers crossed , would be great if I was discharged!
