Trolling and the forum

Some correspondence with another member has made me realise that some members may not know the rules of this forum and also how to deal with anything you don't like that you may read here. Firstly there is a pinned post to your right explaining our rules. and what is not acceptable.

It is a couple of years since we had a serious trolling problem so just to remind you all, at the bottom of every post is a box marked "more" . Click on this and you can either edit one of your own posts or report a post with reasons such as "offensive. sales attempt, inapropriate etc." Admin (NOT ME) will then investiagate and take whatever action is needed, usually deleting the post and speaking to the person responsible and in some cases deleting them from the forum. There have been a few sales pitches I have reported recently which had to be removed for example.

What I would urge people NOT to do is engage in arguments which further disrupt proceedings. This only provides oxygen to fan the flames. A fire blanket works much better.

I know that there will always be differences of opinion and not everybody will agree with everything you say or you with them but we roll along pretty well here on the whole. so lets keep it that way please.

I remember having to gather all my ladies together and explain the company policy on sexual inuendo and similar issues. At the end I had to ask if there were any complaints to log and their spokeswoman piped up " Yes there isn't enough of it!" .
