Sympathies Vonnie - a real misery and so debilitating.

I wouldn't take OTC medication without advice from my trusted pharmacist or GP but perhaps I'm too careful. I was told that it may not be a good thing to stop bowel movements which are caused by a bug - better out than in, sort of thing. One thing you need to do is keep your electrolytes up - I use diaoralyte which I was told was OK - and keep yourself well hydrated.

Hope you feel better soon. xx

Keep hydrated is even more important when you've got AF irrespective of having the bug draining you as well.

I've taken Loperomide(sp) for short term relief (to get me more than 20 mins sleep) when really bad and when the PAF was unstable. It didn't affect me but the dehydration made me feel awful for a week.

Really felt that today. I've sunk 2.5 litres of fluid in 8 hours of shift today and my piss is still like Whiskey!

I have been on twelve hour shifts It's way too hot with uniforms on Pushing fluids all day but nothing cools you down and residents shut windows as they feel cold due to the dementia Working upstairs is even hotter
