Hi Poppy
I wouldn't think that your INR rate of 3.9 would be the cause of your feeling off colour and dizzy, but then we all respond differently to medication. Mine once went up to 6.4 and I had no idea or symptoms whatsoever. I was very cross about it, but my surgery were not alarmed at that high rate!! I just had to miss a few doses and then go back in a few days to have another INR test
Has your blood pressure been checked, as a low one can sometimes make you feel as you have described? Also are you drinking enough water in this hot weather?
Jean
Greens contain vitamin K which lowers INR. Alcohol and antibiotics raise INR. You can eat greens as often as you like as long as your Warfarin dose takes account of your diet.
Hello Poppy, Lynda here. My INR is normally stable at 2.3 - 2.7, and has been for 7 years. However, sometimes it just goes up beyond 3 for no other reason than maybe the heat. My INR nurse is never worried as it always rights itself. I home test, so if I'm feeling a bit ropey, I do a test, it’s always ok. I did give Apixaban a go, but it didn’t suit me. I much prefer being in control of my blood results. Try not to worry, the beauty of warfarin is it’s easy to put right, either like I do by eating a bit more broccoli or leaving a dose out with the INR nurses ok. (Only did that twice, once after an accident and another time, I had an eye bleed, not caused by warfarin, but not helped by it.) All's well now though. It’s a way if life you just learn to adapt to. Good luck.
