Can water tablets wear out after time..

My husband has been on bumentanide since January 2019. He has swollen legs (just below knee) and is putting on gradual weight each day, 0.1 to 0.3 kg over 6 days. Can the effects of bumentanide wear out over time? The dosage is 1 mg OD. Has the 1 mg dosage peaked? His chest is clear. He also has kidney issues with a low eGFR so potentially could the swollen legs be related to the kidney function? Any advise will be an enormous help. We are seeing the kidney consultant this week.

Since this is a forum for Atrial Fibrillation this may not be the best place to ask that question. Why not look in the HUL family for a forum on heart failure or kidney problems.

Good that he is seeing kidney doc as someone needs to evaluate him and what is causing fluid buildup. It could be heart, kidney, or circulation issues. Is he keeping his legs elevated when not walking and watching his salt intake?
